| Stop Stigma Now is excited to announce that we will be holding our 5th Annual Virtual Recognition Event “Break the Silence” on Tuesday December 3, 2024, at 12pm EST (9am PST) Join us in honoring Dr. Miriam Adelson and her accomplishments in the field of addiction. Dr. Yngvild Olsen will provide an overview of recent developments from the federal perspective. This year we are honoring Dr. Miriam Adelson. Dr. Adelson is a leading physician and pioneer in the field of addiction. While at Rockefeller in the mid-1980s, Dr. Adelson began to develop a unique specialty in the areas of chemical dependency and drug addiction. This has become her humanitarian endeavor and has led to international recognition in the fight against drugs. She opened the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Clinic for Drug Abuse Treatment and Research in Tel Aviv Medical Center and in Las Vegas. David Novick, MD, longtime colleague of Dr. Adelson, will be introducing and presenting her award. Our guest speaker is Dr. Yngvild Olsen, MD, MPH. Dr. Olsen is the Director of the Center for Substance Abuse (CSAT). Joe “Yuseff” Wilson, a person with lived experience, will share his personal story of recovery. We are certain that our guests will turn this gathering into an inspiring event which will leave you eager to learn more and get involved in supporting our cause.
