Kentucky Governor Announces Prescription Drug Task Force

Gov. Steve Beshear announced that Kentucky is partnering with three border states to combat the region’s prescription drug problem, even as questions linger over how well the state has used its own electronic monitoring resources.

Beshear said Kentucky has joined with Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia to create the Interstate Prescription Drug Task Force, a group of about 30 experts from law enforcement and drug agencies who will develop strategies—including digital monitoring—to curb the sale and abuse of prescription drugs.
